Jollyship and the Whizbang @Spiegelworld

Enticed by a shoutout in ToxicPop last week I dragged my friend to check out Jollyship and the Whizbang at Speigelworld at South Street Seaport (if you’ve never been go see a cabaret show there.The view is killer).

From the ToxicPop description: “A concert with songs you’ve never heard, with outfits you’ve never seen and drinks you’ve never drunked (drinkees sold separately). The mind, means and mayhem behind Straight Up Vampire play for your pirate pleasure at this special supershow. We just love this band of dissolute debauched dipsomaniacs. Oh yes we do. Arrr! Matey!”

So….the puppets turned out to be a fake out, BUT…the show was super bad ass. Songs about sailing the high seas, of love lost, and booty won. And drinking a pint while listening inside the tent was the best.

Oh, and bonus points ‘cause they hail from Brooklyn.
